They skied side by side as though a gold medal were at stake, but that was settled nearly 20 minutes earlier. Then Andorra’s Francesc Soulie stretched his ski forward at the last second to edge Denmark’s Jonas Thor Olsen in a photo finish — for last place. Soulie edged Olsen by one-tenth of a second for 47th place Sunday in the 50K cross country race. “The photo finish was bad luck,” said Falk Goepfert, Olsen’s coach and technician. “It’s also nice for the spectators when they fight for the last position.”
