Frontier Airlines employees are rallying to save the animals on the tails of the carrier’s Airbuses. Last week, they launched a Facebook page called “Save the Frontier Airlines Brand and Animals” after The Denver Post reported that Frontier’s parent company, Republic Airways, is considering renaming the network composed of Frontier and Midwest airlines.

“Please don’t even think about losing such a successful brand and ad campaign with our great pals Larry, Griz, Foxy, Hector, Flip, etc.,” the creators state.

Posters urge support of Frontier’s name and animal ads, including a possible rally. Last summer, Frontier employees held a “Save the Animals” march in downtown Denver.

Frontier spokesman Peter Kowalchuk on Monday dismissed rumors that Republic is considering calling the combined carrier New Air. Those rumors stemmed from a brand survey that asks customers to compare deals from several real airlines and a new airline with the fictitious name “New Air.”

“New Air is not a name being considered in our branding research,” Kowalchuk said. Ann Schrader, The Denver Post
