Getting your player ready...

Denver star-stylist Matthew Morris is making a splash as a contestant on Bravo’s “Shear Genius.” It plays at 7 p.m. Wednesdays.

Judges like his cutting well enough — but viewers love his snarky asides, known as “Matthewisms.”

Here’s a taste of what’s gone down:

“I’m definitely going to have my competitive edge and my manipulative streak, but nobody’s going to know about that until the end.”

“All artists are a bit bonkers. . . . It’s really just like nuances in eccentricity.”

“Most men, especially straight guys, are babies.”

“I’m the All-American. I am THE natural. Everybody likes me. I can get along with anybody. I’m not a diva, and I can do great, wearable, beautiful hair.”

“Just Google me. You’ll know who I am.”

“Can you hear my eyes roll?”

“I don’t toot my own horn, but I’m really good at extensions.”

“Who picked YOU for a bridesmaid?”

Taking flight

Amelia Earhart, Denver’s sweetheart in the sky, left town last April to be the helicopter traffic reporter in Los Angeles. But she will be back at 9News-KUSA in April, reporting on road jams from the desk. Occasionally, she’ll be in the chopper for big breaking stories.

“This was just a great chance to come back to KUSA,” she tells me. “The helicopter industry is changing, and I’ve developed other skills. I am a completely different reporter than I was in the past.”

She says she had a great time in L.A. — covering the Michael Jackson action from the air, as well as the state’s largest wildfire. She also got to interview Hilary Swank, who starred as famed aviator Amelia Earhart in “Amelia,” and attend the premiere.

“I love L.A., but when it came down to it, I am a Colorado girl,” says Earhart of her return. “I am excited to get home and see the snow and to live in Wash Park.”
