• Because of a reporting error, a story in Monday’s business section about the proposed Employee Free Choice Act misstated a portion of the act. It would eliminate an employer’s ability to demand a secret-ballot election for union representation if a majority of workers sign cards authorizing the union. Employees still could petition for a secret ballot.
