The winner: Staci Brachtenbach, Stratton
The John Deere tractor can be found at the Stratton Park. I drive by it daily as I go to work at the high school. I can see the tractor from my classroom and it is enjoyed by all who visit the park. It originally belonged to Kenneth Scheierman, who passed away at the age of 94 just last month. It was restored and put in the park as part of an Eagle Scout project in the 1990s. The kids of Stratton have spent hours “farming their fields” and “fixing the tractor,” which has included putting sand just about everywhere it can go. My son, Haydon, loves to play on it when we visit the park.
