Maine’s only two-time Olympic gold medalist made a triumphant return to Sugarloaf, riding his snowboard down a hill accompanied by dozens of kids Saturday. Seth Wescott won his first gold medal four years ago in the inaugural snowboardcross at the Turin Olympics. He wasn’t favored to win in Vancouver but came from behind to collect another gold medal. Gov. John Baldacci, who joined in the festivities, said Wescott has been a role model and embodies Maine’s values of hard work. He describes Wescott as an “unassuming, down-to-earth, dedicated and a hardworking guy.” The Associated Press; AFP/Getty Images photo
