DENVER—A hearing in Denver federal court has been delayed for a suspected drug kingpin blamed for smuggling millions of dollars worth of cocaine.

Oscar Arriola Marquez was extradited from Mexico to Colorado last week. He faces drug trafficking charges on accusations that he used a remote Colorado ranch house as a holding place for hundreds of pounds of cocaine headed to large U.S. cities.

He was due in court Monday, but his hearing was rescheduled until Tuesday.

Arriola Marquez was indicted in Denver in 2003. He was arrested in Mexico in 2006 and has been held there ever since.

Arriola Marquez’s brother, Miguel, pleaded guilty to drug trafficking in 2007 and awaits sentencing.
