On Thursday, April 1, Curious Theatre Company is hosting “Student Assembly” – a night for Denver area high-school students to gather for dinner, a performance of the play “Opus” and discussion with theater professionals.

Students will gather at 7 p.m. in Mamie’s (the backstage meeting room at Curious Theatre) to eat and chat with theater professionals including:

*Christy Montour-Larson, director at Curious and Denver Center Theatre Company

*Dee Covington, director of Curious New Voices

*Josh Hartwell, playwriting instructor with Curious New Voices

*GerRee Hinshaw, host of the Bug Theatre’s “Freak Train”

*Tyee Tilghman, actor at Curious and Denver Center Theatre Company

*Alexandra Lewis, Colorado Shakespeare Festival acting company member

*Kathryn Gray, actor at Curious and Paragon theaters

*Jaime Lujan, actor and educator

*Candy Brown, former Broadway actor and choreographer of Denver School of the Arts’ award-winning “Urinetown”

*Mare Trevathan, coordinator of “Student Assembly” and actor at Curious).

*John Moore, Denver Post theater critic

At 8 p.m., the group will watch Curious’ production of Michael Hollinger’s “Opus,” a fierce and witty, 90-minute play The New York Times described as “sex, drugs and chamber music.”

The performance will be followed by a discussion with the cast of “Opus.”

The dinner, show and discussion is $15 for high-school students. Space is limited, though, and tickets must be purchased by March 30. Order tickets at , and use the code “SA”
