DURANGO — Abby Jackson scored 17 points to help lead Fort Lewis over Concordia St. Paul 73-64 in the NCAA Division II Central Region championship Monday night.

With the victory, the Skyhawks (33-3) advanced to the Elite Eight, where they will face Seattle Pacific.

Fort Lewis is the first Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference women’s team to reach the Elite Eight.

Leading 32-23 at halftime, the Skyhawks briefly allowed the Golden Bears (26-6) to rally and take the lead with 12 minutes remaining. But with just over a minute to play, Fort Lewis broke a 60-60 tie with an 8-0 run to seal the win.

All five Fort Lewis starters scored in double figures, led by Jackson, who made four 3-pointers and went 5-for-5 from the free-throw line. Katie Mackey added 15 points, while tournament MVP Allison Rosel had 12 points and 17 rebounds. The Skyhawks finished their home season undefeated.

The Skyhawks will head to St. Joseph, Mo., for the quarterfinal matchup against Seattle Pacific on Tuesday, March 23.
