CENTENNIAL — A man who killed a Guatemalan immigrant six years ago has been convicted of murder.

Tommy Lee Halfacre, 27, was on the run for four years after the shooting in a botched robbery.

Authorities say Carlos Ortiz Orellana was killed at his Aurora apartment complex after telling Halfacre he had no money. Halfacre was found in 2008 in Kansas City, Mo., after appearing on “America’s Most Wanted.”

An Arapahoe County District Court jury convicted him Friday. Sentencing was set for June 4.
