A 6-year-old skateboarder was killed in a freak accident Sunday evening when he was hit by a vehicle his father was driving.
The accident happened about 6:30 p.m. in the 2700 block of West Hillside Avenue, said Sonny Jackson, a Denver Police Department spokesman.
Investigators were called to the scene. The boy was taken to Swedish Medical Center where he died. The boy’s mother also was in the vehicle that hit the child.
The father didn’t see his son, who skateboarded into the path of the auto.
