DENVER—A man faces charges that he pretended to be a lawyer and stole $400,000 from the people who hired him.

The Denver District Attorney’s office said Tuesday that 52-year-old Tulio Andrew Ragusin is charged with 20 felony counts, including theft and criminal impersonation. Prosecutors say Ragusin was already in custody on similar charges and was being held on $100,000 on that case.

Prosecutors say Ragusin pretended to be a lawyer and failed to complete work he was hired to do or did it incorrectly. Ragusin is accused of defrauding nearly a dozen people.
