Arthur Louis Martinez, 43, will face sex assault, robbery and other charges related to an attack on a Green Mountain woman last July, the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office said today.
Police said Martinez jumped from behind a bush and attacked the 29-year-old woman as she walked in the west metro neighborhood.
He allegedly punched her in the face as he was raping her, then took her MP3 player after the assault.
His bond was set at $50,000, though Martinez is already in the custody of the Colorado Department of Corrections. The reason for his incarceration is not clear from public records, as he has been arrested multiple times on charges that include burglary, car theft, assault and escape.
