BOULDER, Colo.—A Roman Catholic church in Boulder is inviting parishioners to pray outside the Boulder Abortion Clinic as part of an anti-abortion campaign in dozens of U.S. cities.

Sacred Heart of Jesus pastor Bill Breslin says the 40 Days for Life campaign invited parishioners to a vigil Friday outside Dr. Warren Hern’s clinic. Breslin said in a church newsletter that it would involve only a “silent witness and prayer.”

Hern isn’t so sure. He says people regularly “harass” his patients outside his clinic, prompting him to increase security measures.

Last year a Spokane, Wash., man was charged with making threatening calls to Hern’s clinic within weeks of the slaying of Dr. George Tiller, who operated an abortion clinic in Wichita, Kan.
