Even though there were mild temperatures along the Front Range yesterday and this morning, helping to melt Tuesday’s snow, another storm is knocking on the door for this evening.

9NEWS Meteorologist Becky Ditchfield says a winter storm warning will be posted for the Front Range foothills and areas south and east of Denver starting at 4 p.m. this afternoon. Areas like Evergreen, Bailey, Central City, Black Hawk and Genesee will see 5 to 8 inches of snow by Saturday afternoon.

Castle Rock to Colorado Springs are expecting 5 to 10 inches of snow. Locations east to Limon are expecting 3 to 6 inches of snow by Saturday morning.

In Denver, look for rain showers to develop this afternoon. The rain will mix with snow just in time for the drive home this evening.

Snow showers will continue overnight in Denver into early Saturday with 2 to 5 inches of snow set to fall. Currently, there are no winter weather or travel advisories posted for Denver.

United Airlines officials say they plan to cancel 84 flights between today and Saturday morning.

Southwest Airlines has not cancelled any flights, but will reevaluate at 3 p.m. today.

Winter weather advisories will go out for the northern and central mountains Friday evening through early Saturday. Expect 5 to 10 inches of snow forecast for areas like Aspen, Vail, Snowmass, Crested Butte and Steamboat Springs.
