Xcel Energy says one of two bald eagle eggs laid in a nest at its Fort St. Vrain Generating Station near Platteville has hatched.

The utility said Friday that the second egg is due to hatch at any time.

Xcel has posted a live feed on its website from two cameras mounted on a tree limb about 6 feet above the nest. The utility also has cameras above a nest box visited by a pair of great horned owls at its Valmont Generating Station in Boulder and a nest visited by a kestrel at its Pawnee Generating Station in Brush.
