A former city worker convicted of embezzling more than $600,000 from the Denver Department of Human Services was sentenced Monday to six years in prison.
Ivan Guerrero, 45, also was ordered to pay $797,011 in restitution and $3,022 in extradition costs.
Guerrero was charged in 2006 with setting up phony benefits accounts and withdrawing money from them. He was a fugitive until being re- arrested in Florida in January.
