The Colorado Eagles fell into a 3-0 series hole in the Northern Conference semifinals of the Central Hockey League with a 3-1 loss to Bossier-Shreveport in Bossier City, La., on Tuesday night.

The Mudbugs scored three goals on just 20 shots, including one power-play goal in the first period, while the Eagles scored only one goal on 25 shots.

Bossier-Shreveport’s Travis Clayton scored on the power play in the first and added his second goal of the night early in the second period.

The Eagles had their chances to get on the scoreboard midway through the second but went 0-for-2 on consecutive power plays, with the Mudbug’s David Pszenyczny scoring as he came out of the penalty box to make it 3-0.

Colorado’s only goal came in the final minute of the game when Riley Nelson scored as the Eagles had an extra attacker.

The Eagles will try to avoid the sweep and climb back into the best-of-seven series in Game 4 on Friday night in Bossier City but will have their work cut out for them. The Mudbugs have won five straight games at home including the regular season, and are 19-13-0 at home on the year.

Air Force frosh has six hits, nine RBIs.

Freshman Garret Custons drove in nine runs to lead Air Force to a 25-7 win over Colorado Christian at Falcon Field.

Custons went 6-for-7, including two home runs and two doubles. His six hits and 14 total bases rank second all time at Air Force, and the nine RBIs rank third all time.

The Falcons had a season-high 26 hits, 11 for extra bases, as they scored in every inning.
