Thornton police today confirmed the identity of a body found in a burned condominium Saturday as 22-year-old Liberty Ledezma.
Her cause of death and the cause of the fire, however, are still under investigation, Thornton police spokesman Matt Barnes said in an e-mail.
The fire is being described as suspicious, and the case is being investigated asa homicide.
Ledezma lived at the unit where she was found at the Star Point Condominiums at 8701 N. Huron St. Her family issued a statement on Sunday, saying she was the mother of a 3-year-old, who was not home at the time of the fire.
The noontime fire damaged or destroyed about 14 units.
