Shares of Denver- based Intrepid Potash Inc. rose Tuesday on speculation that Yara International ASA might be interested in making a bid for the potash producer.
There were no signs that a deal was in the works, and analysts said they didn’t think it was likely. Intrepid Potash and Norway- based nitrogen-fertilizer producer Yara couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
Intrepid’s shares closed Tuesday at $30.23, up $1.28, or 4.4 percent, on the New York Stock Exchange.
