GREELEY, Colo.—Weld County sheriff’s officials are investigating the death of a baby near Frederick.
Sheriff’s deputies went to a home on a report of a nonresponsive infant Friday. Six-week-old Esteven Nunez was pronounced dead around 5:30 a.m. Friday. His parents were home at the time.
Sheriff’s deputies say there were no obvious signs of injury. They say Esteven had been taken to a Longmont hospital March 16 and March 18 with breathing difficulties and respiratory congestion.
Coroner’s officials hadn’t determined the cause of death as of Wednesday morning.
