BOULDER, Colo.—Prosecutors dropped a criminal charge against a Boulder school bus driver who crashed into a retaining wall and swerved into a house’s yard.
The Boulder District Attorney’s office said Thursday they were dropping a charge of careless driving against 62-year-old Robert Lecy (LESS-ee) after his doctor determined he had a heart attack that made him black out while he was driving.
Lecy was taking 17 students to Boulder High School Nov. 30 when he went off the road. Nobody was hurt.
Lecy also initially faced a charge of driving under the influence of drugs but that charge was dropped in January after tests showed he had no drugs or alcohol in his system at the time of the accident.
