It’s been more than 20 years since a self-described mob hit man claimed that the body of former Teamsters boss Jimmy Hoffa, left, was entombed beneath Giants Stadium. As former Giants punter Sean Landeta once joked, “It gives a whole new meaning to kicking into the coffin corner.” Hoffa disappeared in Michigan in 1975, when Giants Stadium was being built. Now the stadium is about to be demolished, and the story may be buried forever in 13 feet of concrete and asphalt and turned into a parking lot. Much like the number of licks it takes to reach the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop, the world might never know the mystery of Jimmy Hoffa.
