A Parker man has been arrested for allegedly using the Internet to send obscene material and to solicit an underage girl.
The man, Michael R. Frazier, 47, was working for the Douglas County Planning Division when he was arrested. He has since been fired, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
According to investigators, Frazier began chatting online in early January with an adult male posing as a 14-year-old female.
The person Frazier was talking to was an undercover detective with the Sheriff’s Office. The conversations allegedly became sexual in nature and Frazier sent obscene material over the Internet, officials said.
In early March, the Douglas County detective received a call from investigators in Kenner, La., who were looking at a similar solicitation case that appeared to involve Frazier, said Douglas County sheriff’s spokeswoman Cocha Heyden.
Frazier was arrested March 10 at his home. He posted a $100,000 bond and was released.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has presented the case to the district attorney’s office.
Investigators recommend that Frazier be charged with four counts of Internet exploitation of a child and two counts of promotion of obscenity of a minor. The charges include the Colorado and Louisiana cases. Howard Pankratz, The Denver Post
