LINCOLN, Neb.—Nebraska athletic administrators have begun talks with coach Connie Yori to rework her contract following the Cornhuskers’ 32-2 season and run to the NCAA Sweet 16.
Yori ranks 10th among Big 12 women’s basketball coaches in salary. Her guaranteed pay is more than $384,000.
Associate athletic director Marc Boehm (BAYM) oversees the basketball program. He says he expects to hammer out contract details with Yori over the next week or two.
Boehm says Yori deserves a raise. She is 153-99 in eight years at Nebraska, with six winning seasons and three NCAA tournament appearances.
The only coaches paid less than Yori in the Big 12 this year were Colorado’s Kathy McConnell-Miller, who was fired this week, and Missouri’s Cindy Stein, who has resigned.
