GREELEY, Colo.—Colorado authorities are appealing to a missing girl to come home if she can, and they assured her she’s not in trouble.
Twelve-year-old Kayleah Wilson was last seen eight days ago when she left her home in Greeley to walk to a friend’s birthday party.
Authorities don’t know if she was abducted or ran away. Police and FBI officials said Monday it’s possible she’s simply too frightened to return because of all the publicity her case has received.
Jim Davis, special agent in charge of the Denver FBI office, says the longer Kayleah is missing the more concerned authorities become.
Authorities announced a $10,000 reward for information, saying they believe someone may know something about Kayleah’s whereabouts.
They say they have gone to 1,000 houses and pursued 300 leads.
