AURORA — Officials on Tuesday broke ground on improvements to the Interstate 225-East Colfax Avenue interchange.
The intersection is one of the most congested in the city. But the improvements are expected to make it easier to navigate the growth around the Anschutz Medical Campus.
The entire project is expected to cost $43 million.
Initial improvements call for widening the southbound I-225 ramp at Colfax. Eventually, the southbound off-ramp will be moved north and a pedestrian bridge between the freeway and Fitzsimons Parkway will be built.
