DENVER—Winter is returning to parts of Colorado, with more than a foot of snow expected in parts of the central and northern mountains.
The National Weather Service has issued winter storm warnings for north-central and western Colorado. Strong winds are also forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday in the mountains.
The low-pressure system centered over Colorado could also push toward the Front Range, turning rain to snow by Wednesday morning in the Denver area. The Front Range could get up to 3 inches of snow.
