A 42-year-old bicyclist hit by an RTD bus in Lafayette Tuesday night has died.
Marvin “Chip” Webb is the fourth fatality related to bus accidents in the past week. Dustin Peletier and Carla Miranda, both 29, died Saturday when an RTD bus struck their car in downtown Denver. Clinton Grider, 78, died Monday after he was hit by a bus near a stop in Aurora.
Webb, the owner of Chip’s Place cafe in Lafayette, was crossing South Public Road near the park-n-Ride about 9:45 p.m. when a bus pulling onto the road from the lot hit him. He was helicoptered to Denver Health Medical Center, where he died this afternoon.
“The bus was exiting onto Public Road going south when the collision occurred,” said Lafayette police Cmndr. Mark Battersby.
Battersby said Webb was not wearing a helmet.
