COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—A second day of cleanup is planned for a stretch of Interstate 25 north of Colorado Springs that was closed for 12 hours Wednesday by a fuel spill.
A tanker carrying thousands of gallons of fuel overturned when it swerved to miss traffic and hit a telephone pole. No one was hurt, but the spill closed the interstate in both directions for about 12 hours.
The interstate reopened to traffic before midnight. Cleanup crews were working on the scene Thursday morning, with traveling lanes open in both directions.
Police say the truck driver has been cited for careless driving.
