A portion of West Florida Avenue in Denver will remain closed until midnight due to a water main break, at which time it will open temporarily. The road will close again for a few hours Friday morning while paving crews make permanent fixes, said Stacy Chesney of Denver Water.
The 12-inch water main break at West Florida Avenue and South Federal Boulevard closed portions of both roads for a time this morning.
“Main breaks come in all shapes and all sizes, and you often do see road damage,” Chesney said. A portion of West Florida Avenue buckled due to the break. The road is closed between Federal Boulevard and to Irving Street.
While no other damage has been reported, Chesney said, one business is temporarily without water.
