Workers at the Butterball turkey-processing plant in Longmont have approved a new three-year contract. More than 80 percent of the voters approved the measure, the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 7 said Tuesday.
The plant employs about 225 people. Layoff protection was the biggest gain for workers. If Butterball reduces its workforce, employees are guaranteed at least 36 weeks of work at 32 hours per week a year.
