EAGLE, Colo.—The runway at Eagle County Regional Airport is closing to private aircraft for seven days in June, as crews put final touches on a runway expansion project.

The airport near Vail extended its runway by 1,000 feet last summer so that roomier regional jets could take off and land there.

Final work will close the runway to private aircraft from 9 a.m. June 3 through 9 p.m. June 9 as crews apply a final seal coat and paint markings on the runway and taxiway.

Commercial flights will be suspended between 8:30 a.m. June 3 and 9 p.m. June 4 but will otherwise continue operating during that span.

The airport begins its summer flight schedule June 10 with daily flights to Dallas and Denver.
