MESA, Ariz.—Mesa police say former NBA player Isaiah Rider and his 1-month-old son were located Wednesday morning in east Mesa. Both were in a cab and the child was returned to his mother unharmed.
Police said the 39-year-old Rider was transported to police headquarters for a follow up interview.
At the completion of the interview, Rider was released.
Mesa police said detectives are going to submit the case to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office for review in reference to custodial interference charges.
Mesa police arrested Rider last week on suspicion of assaulting his fiance and bilking a cab driver out of $150.
Rider last played in the NBA for the Denver Nuggets in 2001.
