PHOENIX — The Diamondbacks have placed outfielder Conor Jackson on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring.
Jackson was hurt while lunging for Will Venable’s flyball in the seventh inning of Sunday’s 5-3 loss at San Diego. Jackson said he plans to work on rehabilitation for 10 days, then go to extended spring training in Tucson before joining the team in Houston when his 15 days expire.

Red Sox scratch Cameron
BOSTON — Red Sox outfielder Mike Cameron was a late scratch from the starting lineup for Boston’s game against the Rays.
Cameron felt similar symptoms to last week, when he had to pass a kidney stone. Red Sox manager Terry Francona said Cameron was in the clubhouse before the 11 a.m. start against Tampa Bay, but “as the morning progressed, he showed similar symptoms of the other day.”
Francona said after the game that Cameron was going through tests.
“He had a CT scan, which we think ruled out more (kidney) stones,” Francona said.
Happ to miss next start
PHILADELPHIA — Phillies pitcher J.A. Happ will miss his next start because of a sore left elbow.
An MRI revealed a “very mild” strain, and the team will take a “conservative approach” by skipping Happ’s turn in the rotation Wednesday at Atlanta, general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said.
Happ will throw a bullpen session Thursday.
