The CEO of Denver-based Molson Coors Brewing Co. got a 46 percent pay hike in 2009 as the brewer sold fewer beers but maintained its profit by holding onto price increases made during the recession, according to an Associated Press analysis.
Peter Swinburn’s total compensation was valued at $8.1 million. Swinburn’s base salary totaled $875,000 in 2009, about 17 percent higher than what he earned in 2008. He received a performance-related bonus of $2.1 million, more than double the amount he received in 2008.
