Rockies fans will get a chance to pay their respects and say goodbye to Keli McGregor.

The team announced today that a memorial service for the late team president will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday at Coors Field.

“As an organization, as a family, we continue to struggle to understand why we lost a man that meant so much to everyone who knew him,” said Rockies chairman and CEO Charlie Monfort. “It’s important that Keli’s family and friends have the opportunity to come together and grieve for the loss we have collectively suffered.”

Friends who would like to attend the service for McGregor may enter Coors Field through Gates A or D beginning at 10 a.m.

McGregor, 48, was found dead Tuesday in his hotel room in Salt Lake City. Initial police reports said that McGregor died of natural causes.

The Rockies said today that the organization and McGregor family are “overwhelmed by the outpouring of sympathy, support and prayers in response to the tragic death of McGregor on Tuesday morning.”

Because of the memorial, the start time for Sunday’s game between the Rockies and the Florida Marlins has been changed to 3:05 p.m. Also, the usual Sunday pre-game autograph session has been canceled.

The McGregor family has asked that contributions in memory of Keli McGregor be made to: The Colorado Rockies Foundation, 2001 Blake Street, Denver, CO 80205-2000.

Rockies fans attending this weekend’s home games are encouraged to wear purple in honor of McGregor. In addition, friends and fans who would like to share their memories and wishes for the family may do so via the team’s website: .
