Xcel Energy employees working on power poles in Red Cliff recently discovered some 70-year-old dynamite, the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office said.
The Sheriff’s Office said that it, with the help of the Grand Junction Police Department bomb squad, safely removed the explosives.
The dynamite was found April 14.
The Sheriff’s Office urged residents to be alert for uncovered explosives, which have surfaced because of spring rains and melting snow.
