FORT CARSON, Colo.—An explosives-disposal unit from Fort Carson unit is formally marking its return from Iraq.
The 71st Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group will conduct a flag uncasing ceremony on Friday. The group spent 12 months in Iraq.
More than two dozen members of the unit returned to Fort Carson in March.
The Army says the unit conducted more than 6,500 missions resulting in the destruction of 235,500 pounds of explosives.
The group’s commander, Col. Patrick J. Kelly, will preside at the ceremony.
