LONDON — Most tourists stranded by the volcanic-ash crisis will be home by today, European airlines and government officials said Sunday.
Authorities said that while the eruption of Iceland’s Eyjafjallajokull volcano showed no signs of ending, the volcano is unlikely to cause further disruption to European airspace, as the ash plume is too small to reach jet streams and because winds have changed direction.
