A double rollover accident in Commerce City Tuesday left one driver seriously injured and another with minor injuries.
The accident happened in the 14700 block of E. 104th Ave. at about 1:34 p.m. authorities said.
A 2007 Nissan Xterra was headed eastbound on 104th Avenue when the driver of a west bound Jeep Wrangler attempted to make a left turn into the Aspen Hills Townhomes complex.
Both vehicles collided in the intersection and caused a double rollover.
Commerce City police said the 35-year-old male driver of the Jeep was airlifted by helicopter to Denver Health with serious injuries. The 30-year-old female driver of the Nissan was taken by ambulance to Denver Health with minor injuries.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident, police said.
The accident caused the closure of lanes in both directions of East 104th Avenue until 5 p.m.
The cause of the accident is still being investigated. Commerce City police are seeking witnesses and they can be reached at 303-287-2844.
