Terry Gallagher is deep in horse racing country this week, but he hasn`t made his Kentucky Derby pick yet.
Probably won`t for a few days yet.
“My wife and I pick horses based on names and crazy stuff like that,” Gallagher said via telephone from Louisville, Ky., on Tuesday. “I`m not a huge horse guy.”
Gallagher might not know much about horse racing. But he knows basketball, which is why Boulder High is betting on the 52-year-old BHS graduate to return its girls basketball team to the elite status it once enjoyed.
The school hired Gallagher this week to replace Dynelle Tadlock, another Boulder grad who resigned for undisclosed reasons in January in the middle of her sixth season.
