COLORADO SPRINGS — You may not know what Peter Sagal looks like or even know his name.
But if you’re among the more than 3 million people who listen to “Wait Wait … Don’t Tell Me!” every week, you’d no doubt recognize that emblematic voice and manner.
And even during our nearly hour-long conversation, he’s Mr. Host: polished but a bit nerdy, friendly but as efficient as an assembly-line worker, and funny but whip smart. The chief difference between Sagal in life and on the air: he talks faster, digresses more and doesn’t have to give the spotlight up to anyone.
On Thursday, he brings National Public Radio’s weekly news quiz to the Pikes Peak Center in one of 10 appearances outside of Chicago’s Chase Auditorium. That show will air Saturday.
