WALTHAM, Mass. — Celtics big men Kevin Garnett and Kendrick Perkins skipped practice with injuries Wednesday, but coach Doc Rivers said he expects both to play Friday night against the Cavaliers.
Garnett has a mild strain in the middle of his right foot and Perkins has a hyperextended right knee.
“If we had a game today, I don’t think (Garnett) could have played,” Rivers said. “We just have to wait. I think time’s on our side. I think he’ll be OK.”
• Celtics general manager Danny Ainge said he regrets tossing a towel in the air to distract Cavs forward J.J. Hickson during a free throw Monday night, calling himself “unprofessional” for doing so. “There’s just no excuse,” Ainge said. “It was unprofessional.”
