FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Authorities say the son of Boulder’s first prosecutor to work on the JonBenet Ramsey case has died of an alcohol and drug overdose at a Fort Collins college party.
The Larimer County Coroner’s office says 20-year-old John Hunter Hauck’s roommates found his body at their off-campus home Monday afternoon. Hauck was a sophomore at Colorado State University.
The coroner’s office says it appears Hauck had consumed alcohol, marijuana and may have also taken prescription drugs.
Hauck’s father, Alex Hunter, is the former Boulder County district attorney who was in office when Ramsey was found dead at her home Dec. 26, 1996.
