A 23-year-old man who wasn’t wearing a seat belt died of head injuries Friday night after he was thrown through a window of a car that struck a concrete wall on southbound Interstate 225.
Curtis Cotton of Denver was rushed to a hospital following the 7:30 p.m. accident, which occurred just north of East Iliff Avenue in Aurora.
A second occupant of the car was taken to a local hospital and treated for injuries, according to a news release.
The southbound lanes of I-225 were closed for four hours while the accident was being investigated.
Only one car was involved in the accident. The driver lost control of the vehicle, which struck a concrete barrier and went airborne before colliding with a concrete wall.
