One of Mark Stoddard’s bartending rules: Always shake toward yourself. “That way, if something goes wrong, the drink goes on you, not your guest.” He swears this is preferable. Recipe by Mark Stoddard. Makes 1 drink.
Ingredients
1 1/2 ounces silver tequila such as El Tesoro Silver Tequila
3/4 ounce fresh lime juice
3/4 ounce orange liqueur (Leopold Bros., Cointreau, Grand Marnier, Patron Citronge or another high-quality triple sec)
Directions
Combine all ingredients over ice in mixing glass and shake for 10 seconds. Strain over fresh ice in old-fashioned glass. Garnish with lime wheel and orange wedge.
