Lane closures are expected on Alameda Avenue between Lipan Street and Santa Fe Drive Thursday night as state highway workers complete a lane realignment project.
Traffic delays will take place from 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Flag crews and detours will be in place, but alternate routes around the area are “strongly advised,” the Colorado Department of Transportation stated.
The closures were initially scheduled for tonight, but were postponed due to weather and could be postponed for the same reason again Thursday, according to the Department of Transportation.
The work, scheduled to be complete in September 2012, is part of a $37.4 million federally funded project to replace the Alameda Avenue bridge over Interstate 25 with a wider span that accomodates additional lanes and new ramps to the interstate with wider shoulders and better drainage.
