Gov. Bill Ritter on Wednesday issued an executive order directing the Colorado Economic Development Commission to track the jobs created from grants, loans and tax credits that the state provides to businesses and to report information about job creation in its annual report to the legislature.
A House bill to track job creation by companies receiving more than $25,000 in incentives died after economic-development officials came out in opposition, saying the information already was available and the measure would send the wrong message that the state might yank incentives.
