CASTLE ROCK, Colo.—A judge says a Colorado state trooper accused of driving drunk in his patrol car is getting inpatient treatment.
Forty-eight-year-old David Dolan is charged with driving under the influence and is on unpaid leave. He is free on $1,000 bail. He was due in court Monday, but the judge granted a 30-day postponement at the request of Dolan’s lawyer, Michael Moran.
Moran has said the trooper suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder caused by his work on the Colorado State Patrol fatalities unit.
Moran said last month that Dolan was being treated at a mental health and substance abuse facility.
Dolan was arrested March 22 after several drivers called 911 to report a patrol car was being driven erratically.
